Angler Dee Jay Evans from Las Vegas, NV caught this Yellowtail at SBI in the afternoon. Nice job Dee Jay. Dee Jay also caught a 60+ pound Black Seabass that was successfully released. It took him forever to get the BLACK in. Congratulations on a great day Dee Jay!

We had a great time on the Mirage today. The Yellowtail bite in the morning and then we pecked away at them for the rest of the day. The seas were nice and calm. It was a typical Southern California FALL day!

I won the YELLOWTAIL JACKPOT! This 30 pound Yellowtail is my largest to date! I am very pleased that I caught this monster. Deckhand Victor looks on.

FISH COUNT: 15 Anglers caught 20 Yellowtail, 1 White Seabass, 1 Black Seabass (released), 2 Calico Bass, 40 Rockfish, 8 Sheephead, 40 Ocean Whitefish!

This hook-up was a suspected Yellowtail that bit in the afternoon. This monster put up a very good fight and ended up coming off to this poor anglers dismay.

Dennis Evans was fortunate and hooked into this nice 28 pound Anacapa Island Yellowtail!

We managed one Yellow off a paddy. The Yellows didnt cooperate! But the Albies did!

After looking for more tuna we decided to move on for some Yellowtail. Here I am hooked up into one of the many Yellowtail I caught on the trip. The Yellowtail were very feisty!

The smoke from the fires had blown all the way to Santa Rosa Island! In the morning it was raining ashes on the boat!
