Lets
get
straight
to
the
action.
We
headed
straight
to
the
west
end
of
Catalina,
anchored
up
and
waited
for
daybreak.
Once
daybreak
hit
the
action
started
picking
up
as
we
hooked
and
landed
a
few
bonito.
Before
long
yellows
were
hanging
!!!
I
landed
this
nice
one
with
a
lively
sardine
fished
on
20
lb
test
line.

Dougie
has
been
super
busy
battling
on
the
front
line
during
this
years
tough
fire
season
and
we
all
know
thats
no
joke,
so
it
was
good
to
see
him
back
on
the
water
battling
something
a
little
less
deadly.

Doug
worked
hard
to
keep
this
one
out
of
the
rocks
and
was
feeling
pretty
good
after
landing
this
nice
one.
Now
thats
what
we
came
for
!!

Frank
fishes
hard
and
his
hard
work
paid
off
early
when
he
hooked
and
landed
this
nice
yellow.
Get
used
to
seeing
Frank's
face
because
this
isn't
the
last
yellowtail
he
was
gonna
land
on
this
trip.
Way
to
go
Frank.
Live
bait
seemed
to
be
the
way
to
go
early
as
most
of
the
fish
were
hooked
on
sardines
either
flylined
or
with
a
small
sliding
sinker.

Most
of
the
us
guys
were
fishing
hard
on
stern
so
we
didn't
pay
much
attention
to
the
action
on
the
bow.
We
should
have
because
we
missed
the
fight
of
the
day.
Brent
waged
the
"Battle
Royal"
with
a
huge
homeguard
yellow
and
got
all
our
attentioin
when
we
heard
something
huge
hit
the
deck.
Our
jaws
dropped
as
deckhand
Jim
Butler
dragged
this
huge
mossback
to
the
rear.
We
all
knew
our
work
was
cut
out
for
us
if
we
were
gonna
top
that
monster
for
jackpot
honors.

Everyone's
heart
sped
up
a
bit
knowing
there
were
big
yellows
like
that
swimming
around
and
willing
to
bite
so
every
pick
up
was
extra
exciting.

the
action
with
this
yellow.

I
told
you
we
would
be
seeing
a
litle
more
of
Frank.
Frank
on
again
and
thats
not
a
bonito
pulling
like
that
I
can
tell
you
that.

Frank
earned
the
early
lead
for
fisherman
of
the
day
honors
with
his
hot
stick,
but
the
boys
weren't
about
to
concede
just
yet
and
it
was
still
early.

These
were
all
nicer
grade
yellows
so
every
hookup
was
a
long
tough
battle.
Everyone
worked
together
and
we
were
landing
most
of
the
fish
we
hooked

Cameron
took
a
little
while
to
get
the
productive
jig
pattern
down
but
once
he
did
he
started
hooking
some
really
nice
fish
on
the
yo-yo
iron.

Doug
was
looking
to
get
into
the
fisherman
of
the
day
running
as
well
by
hooking
another
Catalina
yellow
on
live
bait.

Cameron
was
so
hot
with
the
yellow
and
green
Salas
6X
Jr
you
couldn't
stand
within
10
feet
of
him
unless
you
wanted
you're
nose
hairs
burned.
I
had
to
get
the
word.
He
said
he
was
throwing
it
out
as
far
as
he
could,
letting
it
sink
to
the
bottom
then
cranking
fast
for
40
ft
or
so
than
letting
it
sink
and
cranking
fast
again.
Way
to
go
Cameron

Captain
Eddie
Moreno
has
the
El
Dorado
back
up
at
Longbeach
Sportfishing
from
San
Diego
because
he
knows
fisherman
around
these
parts
of
town
like
to
fish
hard
year
round.
The
way
this
day
was
shaping
up
and
with
fish
like
this
who
can
blame
us.

was
Steven's
first
tango
with
a

didn't
show
it
because
he
was
battling
this
one
like
an
old
pro.
