We made a move back to the spot where the yellows were hooked earlier in the morning hoping for an afternoon rebite. Things were slow and looking grim so the Captain decided to fire the engines and pull the anchor to look around some more. I went to my "go to guy" Rich and ask him to get the bite started for us, Please. I kid you not, not 2 seconds later his rod tip loads up, he sets the hook and bingo bite on again !!!

This battle ended in the agony of defeat as this big yellow won this round by rushing into the rocks. Rich's hookup was enough to convince the Captain to redrop the anchor and stick with the spot. Good thing too, because the next hour and a half are gonna be imbedded into the memory banks of a whole bunch of anglers as one of most epic winter time yellowtail bite we'd experienced.

A hungry school of yellows charged under and around the boat and about 5-6 rods went bendo instantly, including Kenny's !!!

Vince always feels like he needs to make his prize look bigger than it really is. Not really sure where that came from.

Once in awhile I'll put the camera down to get in a cast or two. You know what I say "it only takes one cast to hit it big", and one cast made my day when a nice yellow swallowed my squid and pulled like mad after I set the hook into his mouth.

The crew was all over the place gaffing fish after fish and Danny was right there when Johnny's yellow was to the side of the boat.

Good thing Verne didn't offer to repair a reel a fish because I think he might of cut a few off at the boat if he had. Nice one Verne !!!!!

It didn't matter where you were on the boat because the yellows were all around biting on all sides. Loc laid into and landed this nice one in the frenzy.

You want blood, we got blood !! Kich with a bloody one. I kinda think this yellow is feeling like USC felt after UCLA stomped them this year in football. Sorry USC fans, couldn't help it.

Mike never panics when he gets bit, smooth as silk, and I think thats why he lands so many of the fish he hooks.
