Just got finished vacuum packing fish and having dinner. My best friend Jordan Crovatin moved to Winchester Virginia five years ago. He has been here for a week visiting with me. We chartered the Chubasco III today and had one of the most phenominal days of calico bass fishing I have ever had. I am a calico nut. I love fishing them. I do mostly catch and release. Jordan also wanted to try for a yellowtail. Capt. Ernie Cazis and second ticket and deckhand Darryl Sato had a tank of cured five to six in sardines for us. We headed to Catalina and spent about an hour or so on the front side for a shot at the yellows. Sure enough Jordan got a twenty five pounder and was delighted. I kept fishing the calicos. While Jordan was on the bow fighting his tail I was in the stern stunting with a micro lite rig and four pound test and caught and released a three pound calico. Good omen.

Here we are after a full on Yellowtail bite! We sure had a lot of fun on this trip!
