I woke up around 4 AM. There were sardines everywhere. I dropped in and contemplated catching some sardines because there was an unlimited supply. I got bit but lost the fish after a few seconds. I grabbed another live squid and went back to the bow and dropped in again. Within 2 minutes I was hooked up again. The fish pulled me around the boat 1 and 1/2 times. Deckhand Victor helped me out when the fish got wrapped around the anchor line. He also made an excellent gaff. WHEW!
