Shayne Demille was in town from St George Utah and decided to make the trip on the Renegade. Good call Shayne. Here he is with one of the nicer yellows from the first stop.

We ended up landing six or so yellows on the first paddy before it dried up. Time to move on to the next one.

Craig put that spinning reel through good test with this nice yellow.

Gary Langdale from San Clemente got a nice yellow early as well.

Sean "Ironman" Starr decided to put the bait stick aside for a little bit of ironwork. He was high speed cranking an iron when this nice yellow struck. Way to fire the iron Sean !!!

We moved on a began the search again. We could count on Joe to get the bite going again and get it going he did. This guy was on fire. Joe was the hot stick most of the day and by the time he cooled off a whole bunch of quality fish had his number stapled to them. Go Joe Go !!!!

Deckhand Josh Dufloft stuck the gaff in another nice fish for Joe. Good job !!

Dayton Fiori from Glendale Arizona, part of the "Arizona 5", hooked up big time.

After a long hard fight the battle was over and Dayton " The Gladiator" Fiori had emerged the victor. Good Job Dayton

Deckhand Chris "The GaffMaster" Reed with a nice yellowtail he free gaffed as it swam near a hooked yellow. Man that guy is quick with the gaff. Now that was cool !!! Chris and the rest of the deckhands were some of the hardest working and most knowledgeable and helpful deckhands I've ever seen. These guys really know what they are doing. Great job guys !!!!!!!

Captain Louie stuck the gaff in Al's nice yellowtail

Winnie Houston of Buena Park won first place with a 28lb yellowtail. Rick Zavits of Yucca Valley won second place with a 26.8-pound yellowtail. John McAvoy of Jackson, WY took third place. Glenn Brossus of Long Beach, caught an 18.8-pound dorado.

Jim Barber caught the best Mossback Yellowtail on the trip.

Devin Dierenfield of Santa Barbara won first place for a 25.4-pound yellowtail. Curtis Herber of Newport Beach was second for a 24.6-pounder. Ken Huss of Huntington Beach won third place for a 24.2-pound yellowtail.
