Here's
Rudy
with
a
nice
Yellow.
Rudy
is
by
far
one
of
the
friendliest
anglers
I've
ever
encountered!
You
couldn't
ask
for
a
better
group
of
19
anglers
to
soak
a
line
with.

Laney Hackman
9-2-2006
We
were
catching
nice
calicos
and
bonita
but
hadn't
seen
any
sign
of
any
yellows
yet
so
Laney
Hackman
thought
he'd
give
his
bass
rod
with
12
lb
test
and
run.
Sure
enough
not
a
minute
later
a
yellow
eats
his
sardine
and
was
off
to
the
races.
It
was
fun
watching
that
bass
reel
screaming
like
mad
and
begging
for
mercy
but
we
knew
he
didn't
astand
achance
of
stopping
these
mean
one.
In
a
couple
seconds
the
begging
was
over
as
the
yellow
dashed
for
the
rocks
and
broke
off.
A
good
sign
though
!!
Yellows
were
in
the
area.
Laney
fishes
with
the
Turners
Rod
and
Reel
Club
out
of
Pasadena
so
you
know
he
had
another
nice
stick
ready
to
go.
He
throws
out
another
lively
sardine
and
Bingo!,
he's
on
again.
This
time
with
a
little
heavier
setup
with
a
lot
more
pulling
power.
Before
long
the
yellow
was
at
the
side
of
the
boat
and
ready
for
the
gaff.

Laney Hackman
9-2-2006
Were
talking
about
hooking
big
homeguard
mossbacks
in
shallow
water
close
to
the
island
here
not
hooking
a
rat
yellow
off
a
kelp
paddy
in
2000
ft
of
water
here.
These
yellows
are
big
and
mean,
pull
extra
hard
and
know
every
underwater
rock
and
kelp
garden
around
the
island.
You
need
to
lean
back
and
really
pull
hard
on
these
big
boys
if
you
want
to
get
them
to
the
boat.
Laney
put
the
hammer
down
on
this
one,
didn't
give
it
an
inch
and
Nathan
Maciel
was
ready
with
the
gaff
when
Laney
got
it
to
the
boat.

This
wouldn't
be
the
last
nice
fish
Laney
hooked
into
today.
I'm
not
sure
what
they
teach
anglers
over
there
at
Turner's
but
I'm
sure
gonna
find
out
because
Laney
sure
knows
how
to
hook
the
nice
ones.

Greg Pollano
9-2-2006
Greg
Pollano
from
Torrance
was
able
to
get
one
of
his
sardine
past
the
sealions
gauntlet
and
into
the
fish
zone.
He
got
picked
up
big
time
and
knew
exactly
what
to
do
after
that.
He
set
the
hook
let
it
run
for
a
bit,
then
really
leaned
back
on
this
nice
yellow
and
cranked
away.
There
was
no
way
Greg
was
gonna
let
this
one
run
him
into
the
rocks.

Mike
Frank
was
there
for
the
gaffing
honors
on
Greg's

Tina Chang
9-2-2006
Tina
made
the
trip
from
Anaheim
and
wasn't
the
least
bit
intimidated
by
the
boys
on
board.
She
was
up
on
the
bow
fishing
with
a
sardine
when
she
hooked
into
something
big.
This
monster
San
Clemente
yellow
ran
her
all
the
way
around
the
boat.
She
stayed
with
him
every
inch
of
the
way
and
after
a
long
battle
was
able
to
get
this
huge
yellow
within
range
for
Nathan
to
gaff
it.
Way

I
got
everything
I
was
looking
for
and
more
when
I
hooked
into
this
nice
mossback.
Man
these
things
pull
hard
and
just
never
give
up
!!!!
Luckily
I
had
the
proper
set-up
ready
and
could
pull
a
little
harder
then
him.
This
big
boy
put
up
a
heck
of
a
battle
but
soon
I
had
a
nice
tail
on
the
boat.

was
the
next
angler
to
go
Bendo!
on
a

this
one
was
pulling
you
could
tell
it
was
a
nicer
grade
fish
!!!!
