Oh what a pretty site!! My favorite sound in fishing!!! You should have seen that reel screaming and smoking as this big yellow put out numerous blistering runs.

Another nice jig fish for Laney, his second on the jig and third overall. Way to go Laney !!!!!!!

Eric made the trip from Sunland to fish aboard the Freedom and was ready when another big yellow came within range.

I can guarantee you one thing. That is not a calico bass bending Eric's rod like that. Not many fish in our ocean pull any harder than these San Clemente yellows and Eric can tell you from first hand experience.

Keep him coming Eric know is not the time to let up on him !!!

The next order of business was to see which one of those big yellows was going to take the jackpot. There were a couple of fish in the 30+ pound class so it was going to be a fun weigh in.

It was a close call but Tina's nice yellow beat out every other fish the guys could throw up on the scale. Way to show the guys who's boss Tina. Nice Fish !!!!

We had a great trip with a great bunch of anglers and we put some really nice yellows on the board. Nice try Vince but you're not fooling anyone. You're yellow was still the smallest no matter how heavy who try to make it.

Captain Tom Lee not only runs the show on deck but he is a fillet master as well. Tom and the rest of the crew will fillet up you're catch and have it back in the refridgerated fish hold fast to insure its in perfect shape at the end of the trip.

Sandy Fishell of El Centro won first place, for a 31.9-pound yellowtail. Seeker???s Randy Penny won second place, for a 28.6-pound yellow. Dick Parker of El Segundo was third, for a 27.6-pound yellowtail.

I could tell this wasn't Renees first time in the the middle of a wide open bite because she was hooking and landing fish left and right.

The yellowtail were on the small side but that doesn't mean we didn't have fun hooking them.

Eugene with the whopper of the day. I think it's about 20 lbs class. I tell Eugene has been targeting all the big fish and he gets 'em. What a guy. I salute him!!! I hope I'll see you on our next trip.

Just when we're about ready to end the day, Ed landed this nice Yellow. As soon as he dropped his bait next to me, He got hit instantly. I thought they were more hook ups to come. Congratulation Ed.
