The yellowtail Rytz caught would have weighed well over 80 pounds had it been full-bellied. It wasn???t scrawny, but it looked to be in a slender mode.

Due to some freak accident, I was on top of my game on this trip. The kelp was a little hard to find out there, but I managed to get lucky at most of the stops. Here's the Jackpot fish.

Here's my buddy Bob from Fresno. He's one of the SFR regulars. He actually invited me to join him on this trip. Bob got the first Yellow on the boat. He set up a Halibut rig and got a Yellow. I'm so proud of him. He lost two more hookups using this rig. Good job, Bob!!

Nice Yellow caught by boat crew Ricardo. I think he ended up with 2 or 3 Yellows for the day. We finally left the dock about 7:30am, loaded two tankful of nice dines. It took us about 4 hours to get the east end towards the back.

Here a photo with Captain Chris & Jeff. Jeff has the hot stick on this trip. This is his second Yellow. We hooked a bunch Huge Calico up to 6 lb Toad. We released most of them. Great pleasant trip with 11 anglers. We got the whole boat for ourselves. It's like one of the those SFR Charter Trips.

Paul weighed the jackpot. We fished till about 4:30pm at the Island. This is longest 3/4 day trip I ever been. I am not complaining. We got to the dock about 8pm. We brought home 9 Yellowtail, 33 Bonito(released a lot), 31 Huge Calico(ranging up to 6 lb), & 1 Sheephead. Everybody had a good time. I'll see you guys on my next trip.

Lets get straight to the action. We headed straight to the west end of Catalina, anchored up and waited for daybreak. Once daybreak hit the action started picking up as we hooked and landed a few bonito. Before long yellows were hanging !!! I landed this nice one with a lively sardine fished on 20 lb test line.
